Curriculum Choices 2013-2014

Many times I have been asked what curriculum I use in my school.  So I am going to be posting a list of curriculum for each child.  Many of the choices I make I am able to use for both children at the same time, which makes an easier day for me.

The Astronaut  and the Pilot  - 7th and 8th grade

Bible - Apologia - Who Am I? Teaches Biblical worldview.  Very good curriculum.  We are also reading one chapter from our Bible each day and will be memorizing scripture.    http://shop.apologia.com/57-who-am-i

Language Arts: Analytical Grammar - 2nd season (1st sem.)  http://www.analyticalgrammar.com/

Writing - Write Shop I  (2nd sem.)                         http://www.writeshop.com/

Spelling/Vocabulary - Word Roots A1 by Critical Thinking
Teaches Greek and Latin roots to determine meaning of words. Also used for Spelling learning to spell words by remembering roots, prefixes, and suffixes.          http://www.criticalthinking.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=word+roots

History: America the Beautiful - http://www.notgrass.com/notgrass/

Science: Apologia General Science - They read through and work their notebooks on M, W, Th, F; and we have Labs with another family on Tuesday.  http://shop.apologia.com/3-general-science

Reading: Their reading consists of books that coincide with the America the Beautiful curriculum as well as library books that they pick out and do a report on.

Math: Teaching Textbooks - Pre. Algebra - (The Pilot)  I think this has been a great addition to our school curriculum.  http://www.teachingtextbooks.com
